London Craft Week 2018

This year’s London Craft Week, the best one yet, drew to a close yesterday. Now in its third year, LCW is a wonderful celebration of craft in all forms throughout the capital. It really brings to life the rich activities that happen in the heart of the city, and in our mind helps redress the balance in the West End, focussing attention on the craftsman that work within Mayfair and St.James’s. Something that we believe is a truly unique characteristic of our city.

London Craft Week was open to all. Many events were ticketed, but the majority not so. The festival comprises of demonstrations and showcases from over 200 companies and craftsmen, allowing members of the public to appreciate at first hand the skills of those at work.

Budd is delighted to have played its own small role in the schedule, by bringing our cutting room outdoors. As many friends of the company will know, we cut all of our bespoke shirts above the shop. The space is a little small for gatherings and the stairway to the top perhaps best left to the fittest! Therefore, our expert cutters James Macauslan and Darren Tiernan took the public through their shirt cutting paces outside in the Piccadilly Arcade itself!

Thank you so much to everyone that attended. If you didn’t manage to swing by our London Craft Week Shirt Cutting Masterclass, please feel free to make an appointment with one of our cutters by emailing mail@wordpress or calling us on +44 (020) 7493 0139. Alternatively, visit our shop to learn more about how we draft and cut patterns and discuss the ins and outs of bespoke shirt making!
