Product Care

Madder prints have formed an integral part of Budd's identity for almost a century and are synonymous with the brand. We carry one of the best collections out there. The silk for our madder ties is hand block printed and dye bathed using traditional techniques in Bollingham nr. Macclesfield. Each tie is then cut and hand slipped at a workshop in East Sussex in the south of England.

Beyond our 110 year reputation as a world leader in shirt making, Budd has a long established reputation as a purveyor of beautiful, carefully crafted, gentlemen's accessories. Established in 1910, Budd was firmly on the sartorial map by 1919 when George Gershwin cited the company's cravats in his lyrics for "The Best of Everything" in the Broadway musical, La La Lucille. The adage, "the devil is the detail" resonates with the Budd team, influencing how and where we source our products and the breadth of choice that we offer. We work closely with expert heritage mills in the UK and Italy, reviving past treasures and developing new ones. We are unrivalled in our knowledge on men's dress code, and advise our customers on everything from the perfect pocket square to match to a suit, through to what to wear for appropriate dress code.

Our 110 years of experience and our ability to continuously evolve has led us to become London's leading authority on men's dress code. Regularly featured in leading style publications such as the Financial Times, GQ, Vanity Fair and The Rake, we have lent sartorial flair to past icons and modern day heroes including Prime Ministers, secret agents, extra-terrestrial doctors, comedians and more.
