We wrote recently about how our flourishing Made to Measure service has been one of the headlines of this year. Helping to steer this success has been our dedicated Made to Measure cutter, Lara.
Based at our Andover workroom, Lara cuts all of our Made to Measure orders, working with an exacting eye and precise hands. She has held the role of chief MTM cutter for the past 18 months and in this time has gone from strength to strength, recognizing repeat customers’ orders and habits and double checking each detail as she goes. She works closely with our Piccadilly team in order to better understand the needs and specifics of every individual shirt we produce, before collaborating with our shirtmakers to achieve the final result.

“Denim is favorable to cut, due to being a tightly woven twill fabric. Its substantial weight makes it less prone to fraying and distortion during cutting. This stability helps achieve accuracy, precision and a clean cut whether using shears or a rotary cutter. I work regularly with denims from Thomas Mason and Loro Piana and find that both cloths are a gift to cut.”
“Striped and checked cloths are aesthetically pleasing and a rewarding challenge to work with too. Matching up patterns can be complex, but dynamic match-ups look so sharp and make a subtle yet important difference to the end result.”
