Description

Luxurious Lyocell cloths have witnessed increasing popularity in recent years. Also known as Tencel, the cloth is a novel one, in that it is actually a man made fibre, yet one with eco-friendly and stainable properties. Hailing from pesticide free trees, such as the Eucalyptus tree, the fabric derives from a cellulose wood pulp that is then broken down before being spun and woven. The result is a cloth with a silky, smooth surface. In the instance of our own pyjamas, they have a lovey, matt satin like quality and handle. The premium price point on Lyocell, which generally sees it out pricing cotton and linen, comes from its complex manufacturing process and luxurious finish.

Our Workshop

We make our bespoke and made to measure shirts at our workshop in Andover, under the guidance of Di Bainbridge and Gwenda Witts. They joined the company in 1969 and 1976 respectively and oversee the team as they produce our shirts, dress shirts and nightwear. Their approach is fastidious and reassuring, particularly when sat at our finishing boards where they inspect each shirt before it is pressed and packed up.
