Meet The Maker: Claire Gaudion For Budd Shirtmakers
We are proud to present our most recent collaboration with luxury British accessory designer Claire Gaudion. We have worked with Claire to create a unique range of silk bow ties and pocket squares using her library of iconic and diverse prints. In this post we meet the designer behind the wonderful prints.
Graduating from the London College of Fashion, having studied Fashion Design, Claire freelanced and designed for different companies before she decided to set up on her own in 2012.
Her studio is based in Whitchurch Silk Mill, the oldest mill in the UK still in it's original building, where her creative ideas come to life. She creates samples of her designs on her loom in Whitchurch's weaving shed. When it comes to production the final products are made by selected manufacturers in Britain.
Her studio is a wash with colours and prints, enough to brighten up any dreary day.
Having grown up in Guernsey in the Channel Islands, Claire gets the majority of her inspiration from the wonderful vistas and seascapes of the islands, using the shadows and movement of the environment to create her designs.
Claire's designs are so versatile that they have been brought to life on cushions, throws, wraps, scarves and stationary. Her designs will also be available to buy per metre soon, click here for more information. Visit Claire's website, www.clairegaudion.com, to view and shop her product range.
Highlights of the range can be seen and purchased here on our website as well as the full range being available in the shop. See how to style the new range for any occasion here.
