If you’re a channel hopper, this is the autumn event you can’t miss – The Prix de L’Arc de Triumph.

The Prix de L’Arc de Triumph is one of Europe’s most prestigious horse races, run at Longchamp, usually on the first Sunday in October. When it was first run in October 1920 the winner’s prize was 150,000 Francs. Today the race is sponsored by the Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) so the prize money leapt to €4million. It’s all tote betting, so no bookie’s semaphore.
